Sunday Update
Sunday, Februay 1:
Good morning, Abilene Baptist family.
After watching conditions closely and doing everything I could think of to make in-person worship possible today, I believe the wisest and safest decision is for us not to gather on campus this morning.
We had additional precipitation overnight, and road conditions across our area remain very dangerous. Several secondary roads are still icy, and the church parking lot is essentially a solid sheet of ice. Given the current conditions — and the small chance they improve much through the day — it simply isn’t worth risking anyone’s safety.
So, all in-person gatherings for today — Sunday, February 1, 2026 — are canceled.
That said, I will be going live on my Facebook page at 11:00 a.m., just like we did so many times during COVID. If you’re able, I’d love for you to join me from home for a short time in the Word and encouragement together.
I truly hate that we won’t be together in person today, but loving one another also means making wise decisions when conditions are out of our control.
Please stay safe, stay warm, and don’t get out unless you absolutely have to. Even a small patch of ice can change everything in a moment.
We’re looking forward to seeing you soon — Lord willing, Wednesday night — and I’m grateful for each of you.
God bless you all,
Pastor Brad
