Meet Our Interns

MJ Borton

Kidz Ministry Intern

I’m from Sterling, Illinois, and I’m a junior at Liberty University, majoring in Christian Studies with a minor in Children’s Ministry. I love being outdoors, singing, and swimming! I’m excited to serve as an intern this summer to gain hands-on experience in kids ministry, which I plan to pursue after graduation.

Adam Light

Pastoral Ministry Intern

I’m from Eden, North Carolina, and currently serve as a Resident Shepherd at Liberty University. I’m majoring in Pastoral Leadership and Church Planting, and my long-term goal is to plant a church. I’m excited to work and serve alongside everyone at Abilene this summer!

Ally Ogletree

Preschool Ministry Intern

I’m from Augusta, Georgia. This fall, I’ll be attending Emmanuel University to major in psychology with the goal of becoming an adolescent trauma therapist. I wanted to serve as an intern this summer to grow in my understanding of ministry and to seek clarity on whether God is calling me to serve in that way.

Laura Kate Whitt

Kidz Ministry Intern

I’m from Harlem, Georgia, and will attend Carson-Newman University this fall. I’ll also be part of the cross-country and track teams. I plan to major in business with the goal of attending law school. I wanted to serve as an intern this summer to explore the possibility of a calling to ministry and to stay open to whatever God has planned for my life.

Bryce Woodberry

Pastoral Ministry Intern

I’m from Florence, South Carolina, and I am currently studying Biblical Counseling at Bob Jones University. My heart is to serve in youth ministry—whether in a local church or church plant—as both a youth pastor and counselor. I believe the Lord has led me to Abilene, and I’m excited to see how He will grow me and the other interns this summer. I’m looking forward to serving alongside the pastors and building new friendships as we watch God’s work unfold.

Katelyn Zinn

Preschool Ministry Intern

I’m from Evans, Georgia, and currently a senior at Augusta University majoring in Health Science. I enjoy sewing, gardening, and baking. I wanted to do this internship to gain more hands-on experience in ministry and grow in where God may be leading me to serve.
