About Michael O’Brien
Michael O’Brien is a singer/songwriter who has spent more than 32 years in full-time ministry, using his music to share the hope of the gospel. In the early 1990s, Michael signed with Benson Records and earned three No. 1 singles, including “If Ever I Forget,” “Nothin’s Gonna Turn Me Around,” and “What Held You on the Cross.”
Michael also served as the lead singer of the Christian group NewSong, where he was featured on several well-known songs, including the duet “When God Made You” with Natalie Grant, as well as “Before the Day” and “Psalm 40” from NewSong’s worship project, Rescue.
Throughout his career, Michael has performed at more than 2,400 events, sharing a powerful message of God’s mercy and grace through his music and testimony. Whether performing solo or as part of a group, his distinctive voice and heart for ministry have given him opportunities to encourage believers and share the gospel across the country.
Michael is no stranger to Abilene! He previously joined us in 2020 for the Fresh Grounded Faith Women’s Conference, and we are excited to welcome him back.
After more than three decades of ministry, Michael continues to use the gifts God has given him to encourage the body of Christ and point people to the love and grace of Jesus.
