Testimonials
Laura Kate Whitt
Kidz Ministry Intern
“Serving as an Abilene intern was an incredible experience. I not only gained hands-on experience in leadership and teaching, but also learned the behind-the-scenes planning and preparation that allow ministries to thrive. This summer deepened my understanding of ministry and strengthened my walk with the Lord, which truly made it the best summer of my life.”
Jared McKinney
Pastoral Ministry Intern
“What I enjoyed the most about my internship at Abilene was the opportunities and trust I was given. I am very grateful for the opportunity to teach straight from the pulpit and gain real ministry experience. It was so beneficial to interact with the staff and seek wisdom from everyone at Abilene.”
About Abilene
The mission of Abilene Baptist Church is to bring those who are lost into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus and then build them into fully, mature, reproducing followers of Christ.
The vision for Abilene Baptist Church is to fulfill the mission locally through two church campuses (Martinez and Appling/Harlem), nationally through the Abilene Network, and internationally through missionary partnerships.
Our church is currently home to just under 3,800 members, with an average of 1,350 in attendance for three Sunday morning services across two campuses.
