Abilene Baptist Church is an exciting place full of encouraging people. We love the opportunity to get to make new friends and help them become a part of the Abilene family.
Visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating even for the most out-going person. That’s why we do everything we can to help you be comfortable and get the most out of your visit.
What should I expect?
You should expect to be warmly welcomed by greeters and people who are glad you’ve come. Abilene is a Southern Baptist Church that believes in dynamic, practical, Biblical preaching and exciting worship that touches the hearts of people from all ages and stages of life.
How should I dress?
At Abilene you’ll see people of all ages wearing suits and dresses as well as khakis and slacks. While we do believe that an important part of worship is giving our best to God, we also believe the biblical truth that “man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
How do I get there?

Where do I go first?
Go to any one of the main entrances. Greeters will be waiting to welcome and help you. If you have young children a greeter will bring you to the Preschool Ministry Desk to help get your child signed into our safe and nurturing preschool area.
Then what?
If you arrive in time for our 9:15 am Bible Fellowship, a greeter will help get you and your family to classes that will be appropriate for each person’s age and stage of life.
If you arrive for the 10:30 am Worship service, an usher will help seat you in a spot where you can get the most out of the service. If you have any special needs, please let us know.
Children’s Worship
During the 10:30 am Worship service, children (first grade through fifth grade) are encouraged to attend our KidzWorship service in the Fellowship Hall. If you’re not sure how to get there, just follow the signs or ask an usher. They’ll be happy to help you.

We look forward to seeing you at Abilene soon!
